Get Carded

Now that Starbucks provides free internet with a registered card, you can save yourself a breath or two with a customized card that shows your regular beverage of choice.

There is a small fee, but it’s so much more fun to carry around a card that you designed yourself.

I’ve been asking my connections with this establishment to include a feature that can add images. Now wouldn’t that be cool?

This is also a great and practical gift.

The Breakfast Club

Next time you’re at Target, head on over to the cereal aisle and pick up an Archer Farms Cereal or two. No more fussing with bags inside boxes because of their brilliant packaging. Cereal tastes great and fresh! It’s the future of cereals. My fave is the Strawberry Yogurt Granola Flakes - I’ve eaten this same cereal almost every morning for months and I still can’t get enough of it!

It’s A Whole nü Way To Travel

Hi friends!

It feels like I’m traveling in a time warp because I have no idea where the time has gone!

If you haven’t noticed already, Grace Picks has a brand new look and logo! With the new look, images will be upgraded as well. I will be taking pics with a point-and-shoot instead of my iPhone.

To celebrate, if you leave a comment on this post by the end of today, I will randomly choose a winner to receive one of the items on my ‘gracelist’! Hooray for celebrations!

Speaking of nü…

The nüvi® 350 and I are good friends. It’s dependable, helpful, and thoughtful. I even tell people that nüvi saved my marriage since it helps prevent some arguments on the road. ;)

It’s the perfect solution for everyone because we all know that men hate asking for directions but they love gadgets. And this device is especially great for people who travel a lot.

I recently saw one of their clever ads that marketed to nüviweds [newlyweds]. Now, I’m just waiting for them to come out with a live traffic feature… and to do my laundry.

Tea Time

I’m not a huge tea person, but I love green tea, especially from MyGreenTea! My favorite is Genmai Matcha [includes rice kernels and popped rice]. A lot of my friends became fans of this particular one after trying it as well.

I get Genmai Matcha 50-3gm tea bags for home and Genmai Matcha 50-2gm tea bags to take on travels. You can get it directly from them or at your local store for you Seattleites. It’s a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it!

Flower Power

Enjoying one of my favorite blooms, peonies, before their season is over. Peonies are so beautiful for weddings.

Spaahh

Today’s title from Hotel 1000’s Spaahh.

Massages are my indulgence. To think, I worked at Gene Juarez Salons & Spas for seven years and never got a massage or any other body therapies which I would have received for free.

Thanks to my generous friends, I recently had many many knots worked on and enjoyed a luxurious Tranquility Massage there. They have the best spa around town, hands down!

They provide plush robes, sandals, and warm towels. You begin your spa service with a relaxing aromatic foot soak. Make sure you ask for their Market Spice Tea. And then you have access to a eucalyptus steam and Swiss shower which has a large showerhead on top and twelve surrounding jets.

One of the best gifts you can give is the gift of pampering! Mother’s Day is coming up. :)

Not your Average Joe

I just love Trader Joe’s!

“And what’s in a name? A whole lot, if that name is Trader Joe’s. Our logo assures that the products it is on contain NO artificial flavors, colors or preservatives; NO MSG; and NO added Trans Fats. In addition, ALL Trader Joe’s private label products are sourced from non-genetically modified ingredients. That’s quite a name, if we do say so ourselves.”

They sell great food for a great value!

One of my buddies introduced me to this exquisite salad from there - A Complete Salad: Baby Spinach with Cranberries, Candied Pecans, Miner’s Blue Cheese & Raspberry Vinaigrette. It’s $4.49 and serves 3-4 people.

Other yummy items I recently picked up:
- bag of Snapea Crisps
- box of TJ Organic Creamy Tomato Soup
- package of Wheat Mini Pita Bread
- container of Hummus Dip Quartet
- bag of Ridge Cut Sweet Potato Chips

Right on Target

For children, it’s Disneyland. For statistics, it’s Denmark. For me, the happiest place on earth is none other than Target. Or some of us like to call it Tar jé with a French accent, soft ’j’.

I’ve been frequenting this wonderful establishment ever since I was in high school about fifteen years ago, and it just keeps getting better and better. Maybe it’s their right on bullseye logo or their awesome marketing seen and heard all over or the fact that they are a one-stop shop that keeps me going back. Whatever the reason, I always come out with more stuff than I had planned. I’m not exactly proud of this, but Hunny sent me a graph [below] from a new finance software he’s using [more on that later] that showed my spending vs. the US average. Eek. At least I know that I’m making a greater impact to the communities.

Fact: When it first opened its doors in 1962, Target made a commitment to give five percent of their income to different communities.

All my friends used to know me as the biggest Target-lover, but I’m beginning to think that there are more of you out there. Go ahead, share your Target stories. No one will judge, especially not me.

Revelation 3:20

Just got back from San Francisco for a commercial project. We started and ended our trip with IN-N-OUT. Yum! Hunny says I’m a traitor because I favor it over Seattle’s Dick’s.

Simple Chapel

I was so excited when my favorite magazine, Real Simple announced that they were coming out with Real Simple Weddings! I could open up a store with the expansive wedding magazine collection I have, but I don’t know if I can get myself to drop a whoppin’ $12.95+tax to add this one to my library.

The first ‘Real Wedding’ featured in the magazine is in our neck of the woods for us Seattleites, sort of. Victorian Valley Chapel is smack dab in the middle of nowhere on Orcas Island. This would be perfect for a couple in Seattle who wants somewhat of a destination feel without the high price tag. Also perfect for anyone who wants to get married in the cutest little chapel. We encourage future GH Kim Photography clients to check it out. :)
